Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the purpose of the 2024 Sew Powerful Sew-A-Thon Fundraiser?
A. The fundraiser is intended to engage our community of purse makers and to extend the knowledge about Sew Powerful and our mission to their friends and family. It is our main fundraising activity in the Fall and the funds are needed to continue our mission in Zambia.
Q. How does my company enroll as a sponsor?
A. Simply click on the SIGN UP TODAY button above to go the enrollment form.
Q. Why are you offering early enrollment incentives?
A. The discount is our way of saying 'thank you' to those who join the Sew-A-Thon early and helps us plan for the rest of our campaign.
Q. What are the benefits to my company if we become a sponsor?
A. Our very large and growing community of purse makers will be exposed to your company through the Sew Powerful newsletter, our social medial presence, and our very active website. We expect the exposure to be in the neighborhood of 500K contacts.
In addition, by signing up early, your company will be on the Sew Powerful website starting in January and will have exposure all throughout the year leading up to the Sew-A-Thon.
You will also be supplied with a badge to place on your website to let your web visitors know that you support empowering women and girls in Zambia.
Q. Where is the Sew Powerful community? How would you describe them?
A. Approximately 90% of our community resides in all 50 of the United States, but our purse makers can also be found in Canada, the UK, Australia, the EU, India, and Brazil. Mostly our purse makers are women who sew, many who quilt, typically retired, and who have the time and money to spend on well-curated products, such as those sold by your company.
Q. What are the levels of sponsorship?
A. There are five levels of sponsorship: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Each level offers more benefits in exchange for a more significant investment in our Sew-A-Thon. More details can be found in the Sponsorship Guide.
Q. Rather than donating prizes to the Sew-A-Thon, can we make a financial contribution instead?
A. Absolutely. When you enroll, you are given that option. Financial donors receive the same level of recognition as prize contributors.
Q. Do you offer other opportunities to partner with Sew Powerful?
A. Yes! When you complete your Sew-A-Thon sponsorship enrollment form, you will be asked if you would like your business to become an Official Sew Powerful Purse Collection Site. This gives you the opportunity to bring our community into your business to drop off their completed purses, and then shop in your store. We will provide you with signage to alert you customers of your designation. More details when you sign up.
If you have ideas or suggestions for other partnership opportunities, please contact us at janc@sewpowerful.org.
