This in person event unboxes the purses received in the past 30 days and prepares them for their journey to Zambia.   • March 1-5, 2023 (Wednesday - Sunday) | Sewing & Stitchery Expo, Washington State Fair Events Center, 110 Ninth Ave SW, Puyallup, WA 98371. Sponsored by Washington State University, the Sewing & Stitchery Expo chose Sew Powerful in 2020 as one of just two charities it supported. The Sewing & Stitchery Expo is the largest annual gathering of the sewing community in the United States. Visit the Sew Powerful booth to see dozens of beautiful purses on display, meet other Sew Powerful volunteers. You can even drop off your finished purses to save yourself the cost of shipping. Great crowds, friendly visitors, and passionate quilters will find the Sew Powerful booth decorated with dozens of colorful purses, enticing merchandise, and printed materials. Come by to meet other Sew Powerful volunteers and you can even drop off your finished purses to save yourself the cost of shipping. Volunteers are needed to staff our booth. Sew Powerful Purse Program

Our annual Sew Powerful Purse program enables girls to stay in school. Purses are made and sent to Zambia as gifts. The local seamstresses in Zambia make re-usable hygiene pads and together they are provided to girls as part of health (MHM) training. Get Involved
