May 8 -19 (Friday-Monday) | Servant Leadership Conference, Lusaka, Zambia. Led by Sew Powerful co-founder Jason Miles, with contributions from pastors and other thought leaders, this conference will explore the principles first introduced by Robert Greenleaf. These concepts will be shared with leaders from our Zambia school partners. The 2026 conference builds on the servant leadership foundation established in 2025.

July 10-20 (Friday-Monday) | Annual Donor Trip to Zambia, Lusaka and Livingstone, Zambia. Led by Sew Powerful co-founders Jason and Cinnamon Miles, travelers will experience life in Zambia on a guided experience like no other. Take part in purse distributions, interact with Sew Powerful staff (seamstresses, soap makers, gardeners, leaders) and others serving our ministry. Experience the culture, food, people, wildlife, and beauty of the country where we serve. Limited to about 15 travelers. Watch the Sew Powerful newsletter for information on enrolling. September 1 – September 30 (Tuesday-Wednesday) | 2026 Sew-A-Thon Purse Making. The 5th Annual Sew Powerful Sew-A-Thon celebrates National Sewing Month by asking our enrolled Sew-A-Thon participants to challenge themselves to make as many Sew Powerful purses as they can during September. Each purse helps a girl in Zambia stay in school because the purse is filled with feminine hygiene supplies, soap, and underwear. While Sew Powerful purse makers sew purses all year long, September is a month we all sew with extra zeal to support the Sew-A-Thon. In the 2025 Sew-A-Thon nearly 6000 purses. Can we exceed that number this year? Purse makers who also raise $100 or more in the fundraising portion of the Sew-A-Thon, qualify for the prize drawing in October.

September 30 (Wednesday) | Last Day for Sew-A-Thon Donations to be Credited to Participants. Last day to enroll and for enrolled Sew-A-Thon Participants to have raised funds counted toward prize eligibility. See Sew-A-Thon Rules and Guidelines to learn how prizes will be awarded. Friends and family can continue to donate to Sew Powerful beyond this date, but their donations will not contribute to participants’ totals.

October 15-17 (Thursday-Saturday) | Original Sewing & Quilt Expo (OSQE), Sharonville Convention Center, 11355 Chester Rd, Cincinnati, OH. Hours: 10-5:30 Th-F, 10-5 S.
