Hey Friends,

We’d love to have you come visit our fabric thrift shop located in Hillcrest Plaza. We’re a charity that receives donated fabric, yarn, and notions, and we resell them at a discount to help fund our mission.

We can’t replace JoAnn’s, but if you’re looking for a local fabric shop that’s fun, constantly changing, and filled with caring and courteous people, we hope you’ll check us out.

Make A Difference In Zambia When You Shop Our Store

The Sew Powerful Fabric Shop is the retail home of Sew Powerful — a Christian ministry and Washington State nonprofit dedicated to combating extreme poverty. Since 2009, Sew Powerful has been working in Zambia to enable women's empowerment programs. We focus on local employment for local impact and train people to make school uniforms, reusable feminine hygiene supplies, soap, hot lunches, and farm-fresh food.

Our Sew Powerful Purse — handmade by volunteer sewists around the world and filled with hygiene supplies by employed women at our Zambian Sewing Co-ops — gives the average girl back 6 weeks of school per year. With under 5% overhead, every dollar is carefully stewarded. Your thrift store purchase isn't just a bargain. It's a donation in disguise.

Already made a purse? Drop it off in person!
