Help Us Provide A Widow Headed Household (or vulnerable family) With A Garden For 1 Month. Give 1-Time Or Monthly
Support A Widow In Zambia
Did you know that of the 100 families we serve through the Tikondane Gardens program:
- 40 are widows - heading up a household.
- 30 are single moms - heading up a household.
- 20 are people living with HIV/AIDS heading up a household.
- 10 are vulnerable parents - heading up a household.
On average each household has nine people in it. This creates a very desperate situation where food is incredibly scarce. Together we can feed the hungry.
It takes just $25 a month to provide everything needed to deliver a backyard garden for these precious families. They are tended by local teens. That's less than going out to dinner here in the U.S.
All over Ngombe Compound, the worst urban slum in Lusaka, cabbage and other vegetables are being harvested daily - filling the pantry of one hundred households.

Orphans helping widows. We are currently serving 10 teens and they help 100 households, but with your help we can do even more.
Learn How It Started
We started the Tikondane Gardens program with one young man named Chris. The goal was to create a program that offered local teens vocational training and an opportunity to earn money. Nearly 2 years later, our pilot program is over and we are ready to grow with your help. We currently have 10 team members and one supervisor. Together they serve manage over 100 gardens impacting over 900 people. With your help we can do so much more.
