The Sew Sisters of NW WA is a group of fun-loving, dedicated, and caring women. Because they know the power that education can bring to a child's life, they are committed to sewing purses and making notecards for the girls in Zambia to help encourage the girls to stay in school. The members enjoy each other's company and often gather to have lunch, swap fabrics and ideas, and see each other’s completed purses and notecards. Because five of the members are sisters or old friends of other members, the name ‘Sew Sisters of NW WA’ seemed like a natural. New members are welcome to join this friendly sewing sisterhood!
Located in a forested area of the Evergreen State, you might enjoy the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, camping, hiking, or attending various county fairs and community festivals. The Sew Expo in Puyallup is the premier event in the area and is often where members of the community first learn about Sew Powerful. Other popular sewing events include the Snohomish County Clothing and Textile Advisors annual garage sale of fabrics, notions and everything ‘sewing’. Special thanks to Quality Sewing and Vac for serving as a collection point for Sew Powerful purses.
